Store

Large-scale data storage even without a PC

SD/SDHC Memory Card *1 Recording

Image data can be stored without a network connection simply by inserting an SD/SDHC Memory Card into the camera.

In the HCM5 series, SD/SDHC Memory Card can be swapped even without a PC. Making it possible to use a single camera unit as a monitoring device in places where a power source is available, but installation of network or other cables is problematic.

*1 The SD/SDHC Memory Card is sold separatelly. The camera supports 64MB, 128MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB, SD/SDHC Memory Card.

Number of recording files per SD/SDHC Memory Card (Image quality: Standard)

* All values are approximate

For BB-HCM581/ HCM527/ HCM515/ HCM531/ HCM511

* The MPEG-4 recording times will vary depending on the subject and the maximum MPEG-4 frame rate (image refresh speed) and the bit rate settings for image distribution.

High-Performance monitoring with a camera alone
Recording audio simultaneously with SD/SDHC Memory Card *

The SD/SDHC Memory Card can record audio as well as video data for an even higher level of monitoring quality. Video monitoring with sound enhances security by providing additional information that images cannot convey.
*For MPEG-4 recording only

Saving incidental images
Buffered images *1

Image can temporarily saved in the camera's internal memory. This can be combined with the built-in human detection sensor, motion detection function, timer, and other functions to save only desired scenes and check them in the order of occurrence.
*1 Note that buffered images are deleted when the power to the camera is turned off.

Maximum Number of storeable images *2

*2 The Maximum number of storeable images varies depending on the subject.

For more accurete monitoring
Recording Program *

Video data can be downloaded to a PC using optional software. In stores, this allows for more detailed monitoring of customer behavior, and of employee attidutes toward customers, information that cannot be obtained from still images alone.
* Recording is possible for only one camera. To record images from multiple cameras, use the BB-HNP11 or BB-HNP15.

Capture

Seeing even in the dark
Color night view mode *1
when the subject darknens, the camera automatically adjusts the brightness to show you the image. You see clear, easy-to-view images even in the dark.
*1-1 The image tends to blur more then that in standard mode when viewing a moving subject in low light or when using the pan, tilt, or
zoom function.
*1-2 Some subject may require additional time for focusing with the auto focus function.

Also compensates for backlighting
Adaptive contrast enhancement*
The camera automatically corrects the image when one part of it becomes extremely dark. It also compensates only for the dark part, so the entire image is adjusted to the proper brightness for easy viewing from corner to corner.
* The effectiveness of this feature may very depending on the object being viewed and other conditions. Additionally, under certain
conditions, the image may appear unnatural, or noice will appear in the image when this feature is enable.

Monitor at night, or in out of the way locations
Alert yourself when changes occur
The camera comes on automatically whenever it senses a change in its field of view. This is convenient when full-time monitoring or long-term video recording is not required.

Built-in human detection sensor
The sensor *1 detects people, animals, etc., due to temperature changes.
*1-1 The sensor detect heat by picking up the infrared light naturally emitted from people and animals. Certain thermal environments,
sunlight, air conditioners, heaters, etc., may cause detection error or decrease the range of the sensor.
*1-2 The time needed to send images by e-mail from the camera will vary depanding on the condition of the network. When setting the
camera to send e-mail image to a cell phone, we recommend setting a longer interval time. If the interval is set to short, more images
will be e-mailed to your cell phone and therefore your cell phone charges may be higher.

Motion detection function
The camera captures an image in this mode only when motion is detected based on preset threshold or sensitifity of the camera.

Print out the images you need
Mega-Pixel resolution
Shooting at the high resolution of 1280x1024 * pixels allows a clear image even when enlarged. You can check any area you want by talking a closer look.
* For JPEG only. Not applicable to MPEG-4

Easy Set - Up

UPnP
No special technical knowledge required
UPnP Support
The cameras support UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)*1 for easy network setting when combine with an UPnP - compatible router. With the included software, the setup wizard guides you through the procedure and completes the network setup automatically *2. It eliminates complicated procedures and prevents possible setting errors.
*1 A feature designed to simplify the setup of computers and devices connected to the same network.
*2 Some UPnP - compatible

Viewnetcam.com *1
Easy set - up over network
Dynamic DNS service supported *2
It is easy to access your IP camera over the Internet using Viewnetcam, a free Dynamic DNS service offered by Panasonic. For more details abouts this service, visit the Viewnetcam.com website.
*1 Access www.viewnetcam.com for registration information.
*2 The cameras are also compatible with other third - party Dynamic DNS service.

What's a Dynamic DNS service?
Unless your internet provider offer a fixed IP address service, the IP address for each camera (192.168.1.200, etc.) actually changes by the second. As a result it may sometimes be impossible to access the camera. A Dynamic DNS service solves this problem by managing non - fixed IP addresses in such a way that the user can access dynamic IP addresses simply by connecting to a certain URL (Example; http://itcomm-streets.viewnetcam.com:50001).

Network Camera Features

Basic Functions:
1. Capture
Capture crisp, clear images with lens and CCD, CMOS, or image sensor.
2. Store
Store images temporarily in the camera's internal memory, store them onto an SD/SDHC
Memory Card, or use recording software to store them onto a PC.
3. Connect
The network camera uses a built-in web server to send image securly over the internet or
other network.
4. Monitor
View image on a PC or Cell phone. You also can view multiple images with the multi-camera
capability, or use a wireless camera monitoring system to view them right on your TV.
5. Control
Control a variety of camera operations from the browser of a PC or Cell phone.

Network cameras assure home safety

Home security is an important issue, especially in today's world when occupants tend to spend a lot of time away from home. While it may be difficult to introduce an expensive security system. Panasonic's network cameras make it easy to achieve reliable home monitoring at an affordable price.

Zero Distance Management introduces a new age of monitoring

The unique remote monitoring and remote control features of network cameras make them useful not only for conventional monitoring purposes, but also as a new type of business tool. We would like to show you how network cameras can help businesses to increase their operational efficiency, reduce costs, and provide new services.
